The OP-1 is an instrument built on subtraction. One encoder does the work of ten. Nothing is labelled that doesn't need to be. Rendering it demanded the same discipline. Fully CG, framed in macro — the film never resolves the whole object at once. Only surfaces: the grain of anodised aluminium, the soft break of light across a moulded key, the seam where two materials meet. The virtual camera moves slowly enough to feel weightless, closer to orbit than to a lens. Sound sits low and wide, more room than score. Image and sound were built together, by one person, as one object. Nothing here is added. The restraint is the concept: the film refuses what the instrument itself would refuse.
